Located at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas are a celebration of African history and culture. The unique feature of this resort is the Savanna view rooms that allow for the viewing of exotic animals as they live their life out on the savannah.
Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas opened in phases. The first phase of DVC rooms were from converted rooms at the already existing resort, Jambo House. A second area of construction named Kidani Village was opened next to Jambo house in May 2009. Kidani Village houses the majority of the DVC rooms at the resort complex. Jambo House and Kidani Village are walking distance apart with a paved walk-way. There is also a shuttle (passenger van) that runs between the area making it easy for guest to enjoy the amenities at each location.
Simba’s Cubhouse is available for children aged 3-12. Cost is $15 per hour for a minimum of 2 hours and is located at Jambo House.
In-room care is offered to children ages 6 weeks to 18 years old with Disney’s recommended provider Kid’s Nite Out.
Jiko – The Cooking Place – Menu African, Mediterranean, and Indian cuisine offering in an elegant dining experience. This is a Signature dining location and will require 2 table service dining credits per meal here if you are on the dining plan. Only serving dinner.
Boma – Flavors of Africa – Menu Buffet style dining for the whole family. Serving breakfast and dinner.
The Mara – Menu Quick-service dining offering the typical burgers and flatbreads. You can also find great grab and go items.
Uzima Springs Pool Bar – Menu Casual quick-service dining for your time near the pool.
Sanaa – Menu African and Indian flavors meld at this table service dining location. Window seating with spectacular views of the savannah are available.
Maji Pool Bar – Menu Casual quick-service dining for your time near the pool.
Disney’s Magical Express is available for free transportation between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and the resort.
Disney Bus service is used for your travel between the resort theme parks and Disney Springs.
Theme park buses will stop first at Kidani Village and then go over to Jambo House.
Disney Springs buses will stop first at Jambo House and then go over to Kidani Village.
There is a shuttle that runs between the two resorts every 10 minutes to allow easy access to the amenities at each resort. You can catch the shuttle off the main lobby doors at each resort.
There is no cost to park at the resort. Included in your resort stay is parking at the Walt Disney World theme parks.
Parking for vehicles is located outside the resort in a large uncovered parking lot.

The resort offers 2 main pool areas. One for Jambo House and one for Kidani VIllage. They each offer zero-entry, areas for the little ones and slides.
Uzima pool at Jambo House has a playground off to the side.
Samawati Springs pool has an adjacent play area in Uwanja Camp. Uwanja Camp offers interactive play elements and a large splash area with water buckets.
There is Zahanati Massage and Fitness Center as well as exercise facilities over at Survival of the Fittest Fitness Center.

There is a variety of fun to have around the resort.
There are nightly campfires and movies by the pool.
At night, there are night vision goggles that can be used to look at the animals on the savannah.
Sports Courts – Tennis, Basketball and Shuffleboard.
Talk with the employees. Most are from Africa and love to share about their country and their knowledge on the animals, especially at the animal viewing areas.

What is the difference in the value category and a regular room?
The value category rooms are smaller than typical rooms and are only located at Jambo House. They have the lower room counts allowed for the one and two bedroom units because of the lack of the sleeper chair in the living room.
Studios – 316 sq. feet for value compared to 365 sq. feet. for regular room.
One Bedroom – 629 sq. feet for value compared to 720 sq. feet. for regular Jambo House villa.
Two Bedroom – 945 sq. feet for value compared to 1,075 sq. feet. for regular Jambo House villa.
Value categories also has no relationship to your room view. There are value rooms with a view of the savannah and others have a parking lot view.
What is the difference in rooms at Jambo House and Kidani Village?
Typically the rooms are Kidani Village are a tad larger. The extra space at Kidani Village is from an additional bathroom located off of the living room area.
What is a concierge room?
These rooms offer daily housekeeping and access to the concierge lounge that has food and drinks available throughout the day. You will also have the ability to book concierge only experiences, such as the popular Sunrise Safari. Concierge rooms are only available at Jambo House.
When booking this room, you are not guaranteed a savannah view. Some have pool views.
These are extremely hard to book. They almost always are booked exactly at the 11 month mark by Animal Kingdom Lodge owners. There are only 10 rooms for this category. 5 studios and 5 one-bedrooms.
